Robert Mahoney

A proud native Texan, Robert was born and raised in Dallas, and later attended Texas Tech University. He was then a coach and teacher in the Midland ISD. After four years, he returned to Dallas and decided to serve as a police officer, attending the Dallas Police Academy in 1981. He soon was offered a new position at the growing suburban town of Addison, and worked there until retirement at the rank of lieutenant just over thirty five years later.
During his career, he observed closely the transformation of Addison into a vibrant modern city, complete with hotels, schools, parks, a diverse array of restaurants, and an airport. He served in many roles in the investigative, training, tactical and patrol functions, and participated in regional partnerships for emergency management and counter-terrorism intelligence.
Upon retirement, Robert relocated to Cibolo to be closer to grandchildren. Always passionate about public service and community involvement, he was inspired to run for a position on the Cibolo City Council in 2022. Robert is committed to steering the growth of Cibolo, calling upon his experience in budgeting, planning, and policymaking to make informed decisions for the benefit of the community.
Robert has filed for "At Large Place 7" seat in the 2025 election. The term "re-elect" will probably not be used in print because he was previously in Place 3. The net effect will be a continuation of his service on the council.
